Late in the evening on January 20th, our quality audit of our children’s products identified a potential issue with two lots of Shakleebaby Multivitamin & Multimineral Powder. We immediately did a thorough testing of each lot and identified that the iodine exceeded the labeling of the product. We quickly identified 4,222 purchasers and sent them a notification to discontinue using the product. We also automatically issued a refund.

At the same time we consulted with leading medical experts who conducted a thorough review of the medical and scientific literature. Their conclusion is that there is no evidence that this level of iodine poses a serious health risk, and any adverse effects would be rare and temporary and would be reversed quickly after discontinuation of the product.

The lot numbers are Lot AR1E01 and Lot AR9K01. Lot numbers are located on the bottom left side panel of the label, right above the expiration date.
